Doug Baker (JOHN PAUL JONES)
Bass / Keys/ Mandolin / Acoustic Guitar
Doug Baker’s musical journey began at the tender age of 4, initially exploring the piano. By the time he turned 11, he had transitioned to the bass—first on the upright in the orchestra and later on the electric bass in the jazz band. His dedication to these instruments continued throughout high school and college, but it was his introduction to the iconic sound of Led Zeppelin that truly ignited his passion for rock music.
Captivated by the grandeur of Led Zeppelin’s dynamic compositions and the sheer force of each member’s musical prowess, Doug soon found himself emulating the music that profoundly inspired him. He developed a style heavily influenced by his mentor, John Paul Jones, and has carried that influence into every musical endeavor he has pursued. In addition to the bass, Doug also plays keys and mandolin, further enriching the band's sound.
Doug’s extensive musical background includes studying at the renowned Musicians Institute, as well as Chaffey and Citrus Colleges. He has recorded several albums with bands such as Kent State, Vice, Kuni, and Beau Nasty, and has toured extensively across the U.S. and Japan. His video “Shake It” gained recognition when it was featured on Headbangers Ball, showcasing his talent and dedication to the craft.
As a member of Led Zepagain, Doug is honored to represent John Paul Jones and to pay homage to the music that has inspired him throughout his entire musical journey. The band is excited to see how Doug's unique style and energy will contribute to their performances, bringing the spirit of Led Zeppelin to life for fans old and new.
Led Zeppelin is arguably the most famous band ever and that was in part because of the most outstanding and original drummer of our time, whose popularity and influence continue to resonate within the world of music and beyond.
Bringing John Bonham’s thunderous drums back to life is every drummer’s dream. Mastering his many approaches, grace notes, laid back funky, swinging feel, colors of orchestral percussion, power, finesse, dynamics and improvisational skills.
Dedicating my life to music has been a progressive experience in pursuit to build my knowledge and skill. I have a deep appreciation for Bonzo as to what he was able to convey; the emotion, the passion. My musical approach behind the kit demonstrates that I have a profound understanding of what made him tick…and I plan to bring the boom! These are the qualities that I intend to share on stage with the mighty, “Led Zepagain”.
